Executive Commander Pamela McClain, a veteran of over 19 years
in the Wayne County Sheriff Department, has assumed the duties
of Executive Commander of the Court Services Division. She is
currently responsible for uniformed Courtroom security in the
Frank Murphy Hall of Justice, Civil Division, Friend of the Court,
Juvenile Court, and the Juvenile Detention Facility. Having come
up through the ranks as Investigator, Detective, Sergeant and
Lieutenant, she brings a wealth of experience to the position,
in addition to her most recent appointment and assignment of
Executive Commander. Her prior assignments have included Civil
Process, Felony Warrants, Friend of the Court Enforcement, Special
Projects in the Jails Division, Support Services and Internal
Affairs. She also serves on various police oral boards as well
as other county entities.
Commander McClain was also assigned to the Wayne Macomb Auto Theft
Multi-jurisdictional Task Force that was awarded a Unit Citation
for the arrest and capture of 23 suspects with over $250,000 in
stolen automobiles and parts. She was also awarded Unit Citations
for her role in responding to the worst air disaster in Metro history,
Flight 255, as well as for her part in the arrest and prosecution
of the suspects who murdered Sgt. William Dickerson, for whom the
newest Jail Facility is named.
Executive Commander McClain completed her Bachelors Degree from
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In 1995, she attained her Juris
Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. In
2000, she became a graduate of the Eastern Michigan University
School of Staff and Command.
