Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged DPD officer Caleb Williams, 21, with Child Abuse Second Degree and Felonious Assault of his young nephew.*

On April 17, 2024, at a home on East Outer Drive in Detroit, it is alleged that the officer threatened and frightened his 10-year-old nephew by arcing his department issued taser while standing in close proximity to the child.

Williams was arraigned this afternoon in 36th District Court and received a $10,000 personal bond. As a condition of bond, he must not possess any weapons, and have no contact with minors. His Probable Cause Conference is on May 3, 2024, and his Preliminary Examination is on May 9, 2024, both at 8:45 p.m.
