Juvenile Detention Facility - Holiday Adopt-a-Pod 2019

Every year during the holiday season, the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility opens its doors to the community to come and fellowship with the residents. Through our Adopt- a-Pod Program, community organizations, churches, sororities, fraternities, parents and staff provide a special treat for the residents at JDF.Adopt-a-Pod is a wonderful opportunity for the community to spread joy and love during the holiday season. This year the adoptions will begin on Saturday, December 7, 2019 and end on Sunday, January 5, 2020.

Menu Guidelines

This year the facility is requesting that all items be delivered to the Juvenile Detention Facility (JDF) by a food establishment that offers delivery services, No exceptions. Or you can make the payment in full to the company, or present the funds to the facility and the recreation department will pick up the items from the food vendor.

You will need to provide enough food to serve 18 residents including beverage and desserts. Also you will need to provide paper plates, cups, spoons, no forks or knives. You may also decorate serving tables. Organizations are encouraged to fellowship with the residents at your designated time. Fellowship will occur on the living quarters or gymnasium in the facility.

You may serve the residents turkey burgers, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken wings, submarines, tacos, burritos, fruit, a beverage (juice boxes, 2 liter pop or bottle water no can or glass beverages and a desert).

Adoption Time

Adoptees will be able to serve and fellowship with the residents Monday thru Sunday at 5:00pm other times may be available.

Additional Information

  1. Adoptees must be 21 years or older.
  2. A seven day notice is required for your deserved date/time.
  3. Confirmation must be received from Mrs. Plowden
  4. Contact Mrs. Plowden miregarding wish list items.
  5. Parents/Guardians in order for you to Adopt-A-Pod, your child must have a Level 3 status on our Behavior Modification Program.
