Wayne County Babies/ Healthy Families America Program

Wayne County Babies Healthy Families America (WCB/HFA) home visiting program is a free/no cost, ongoing home visiting program that addresses the pressing need for enhanced early health and education services for at-risk families. Enrollment and participation is voluntary.

WCB/HFA program is designed to increase access to needed maternal and child health services and supports to the low-income African-American women ages 13-24 and infants living in the cities of Hamtramck, Highland Park, Inkster and Redford of Out-Wayne County, MI.

The program goal is to reduce racial and economic disparities in infant mortality and child abuse for residents of Out-Wayne County. The objective of the program is to provide home visits for identified families during the pregnancy of the mother until the newly born infant has reached his/her third birthday.

Moms are offered educational programs and classes; assistance with connecting to community resources; consultation and support, and family planning for enrolled clients.
