T.U.R.B.O Program

A tool unique to the Wayne County Land Bank, the TURBO Program serves as an anchor for new investments and as an equalizer in a competitive playing field. Since its inception in 2006, the TURBO program has facilitated over $500 million in investments and resulted in the creation/retention of over 3,000 jobs. In an economy where the State Equalized Value (SEV) of property in Southeastern Michigan has plummeted into the negative numbers, the Land Bank TURBO Program has helped to increase the SEVs of participating properties by $27.5 million. This represents an average increase of 125% in SEVs for participating land banked properties in Wayne County, which translates into an increase in property tax revenues.
