Department of Public Health

The Wayne County Department of Public Health works under the State of Michigan Public Health Code to provide businesses and residents with a variety of services ranging from childhood immunizations and vision screenings, to restaurant inspections. We work to promote healthy lifestyles in our five health clinics and through programs such as FitnessWise. And we work to protect the health of Wayne County's residents through disease control and emergency preparedness programs. Mission Statement The mission of the Wayne County Department of Public Health is to serve the public health interests of County residents by continual evaluation of community-wide health needs and environmental conditions, by development of comprehensive personal and environmental health policies to prevent disease and prolong life, and by the continual improvement of services to assure a better quality of life.
