The Department of Public Services oversees a world-class infrastructure network
of one of the nation's largest counties and its 2 million plus residents and countless
visitors. The Department is committed to maintaining and improving our multi-billion
dollar inventory of roads, buildings and land for the benefit of our public.
Wayne County's Department of Public Services (DPS) was formed as the succeeding
agency to the Wayne County Road Commission. DPS manages the Divisions of Administration,
Buildings, Engineering, Equipment, Parks and Roads.

City Of Woodhaven - Public Meeting Notice!
Woodhaven - A public information meeting will be held at The City of Woodhaven, Wayne County, until 4:00 PM local time on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at the Woodhaven City Hall, located at 21869 Hall Road, Woodhaven, MI 48183, in the City Council Chambers, for The Allen Road Grade Crossing Project.
The project consists of relocating Allen Road under the railroad crossing north of Van Horn Road. Residents and interested parties are invited to come and learn about the proposed project from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Saab to lead county road association
Hassan A. Saab, P.E. of Dearborn has been elected president of the County Road Association of Michigan (CRAM).
Saab, the deputy director of the Wayne County Department of Public Services, replaces former Macomb County Road Commissioner Robert Sawicki.
$1.7 Million awarded for Van Horn Road
Trenton – Wayne County has been awarded $1,710,200 from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to resurface Van Horn between Fort (M 85) and Jefferson, including modifications and improvements boulevard cross-overs. This project will assist with moving traffic in and out of Chrysler’s Phoenix Engine facility.
Wayne County Roads Director Retires
After 25 years of loyal service to Wayne County Lorenzo Blount will retire Friday, February 27, 2009. Blount, the Director of Roads, worked for the City of Detroit before coming to Wayne County in 1984 as a chief labor negotiator. He has served the Department of Public Services since 1987.
