The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office is pleased to offer the Change the Culture of Violence Criminal Justice Tour to Wayne County civic groups and/or students.  The tour is designed to introduce citizens to the criminal justice system.  For further information, please contact Darryl Earl at (313) 224-5799.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office softball team – are now two-time back-to-back champions!

Principal Attorney David McClorey, Elder Abuse, was named one of Michigan Lawyers Weekly 2007 Lawyers of the Year.

Principal Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Rodney Hassinger has been asked to serve as 2nd Vice Chair of the Michigan Anti-Car Theft Campaign Committee.  The organization is a coalition of police, prosecutors and the insurance industry.

Congratulations to Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Ken Simon on a difficult victory while serving as a special prosecutor for Monroe County when Monroe County Prosecutor Bill Nichols disqualified himself from the case.  Charles Fackleman was found guilty but mentally ill on two counts of felonious assault and one count each of home invasion and possession of a firearm.  The defendant pulled a loaded gun on the man he held responsible for causing the road-rage accident that killed his 17-year-old son.

APA Jeff Caminsky put together a collection of short stories written by his father, Wallace Caminsky.  As a surprise for his father’s 85th birthday, Jeff published the collection through his publishing company, New Alexandria Press.   Jeff and his father were featured in a recent edition of Hometown Life.  You can see the story at www.hometownlife.com

Mary DuFour Morrow, Lead Attorney, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Unit, will be awarded the "Advocate of the Year" award by the Michigan Council for Maternal & Child Health (a state-wide advocacy group for pregnant women, children, and their families) for her work in childhood lead poisoning.
