Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Desmon Armon Jackson, 25 (DOB: 12/30/90), of Detroit, with First Degree Murder, Assault with Intent to Murder and Felony Firearm. On September 4, 2016 at approximately 11:10 p.m. in front of a home in the15000 block of Coyle Street, it is alleged that Jackson fatally shot Martell Harris, 26, of Detroit, after a verbal argument. Detroit police were called to the scene and Harris was observed lying on the front lawn with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. It is further alleged that Jackson shot a second man multiple times on the front lawn. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. After the shooting, the defendant removed all of his clothes inside the home on Coyle and fled naked on foot from the crime scene. Shortly thereafter Jackson was located and placed under arrest by Detroit police officers.

Jackson was arraigned this afternoon in 36th District Court before Magistrate Charles Anderson. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 14, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for September 19, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings are before Judge Shannon Holmes in 36th District Court.
