Non-Student Volunteer Registration Packet

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Wayne County Meals on Wheels. As a volunteer you will play a most important role in a program dedicated to serving older adults in southeast Michigan. Here are the details...

Time commitments are generally available between 8am-2pm, in 2-hour, 3-hour or 4-hour time frames Monday through Thursday.

  • 2-hour commitment: Assisting with packaging home-delivered meals, serving congregate and/or assisting with site prep and clean up.
  • 3-hour commitment: Delivering meals to home-delivered meal clients. (This commitment requires a valid license, auto insurance, and vehicle).
  • 4-hour commitment: Assisting with packaging home-delivered meals, and delivering meals to home-delivered meal clients (This commitment requires a valid license, auto insurance, and vehicle).

Volunteers using personal vehicles to deliver meals will be reimbursed .585 cents per mile.

Our pledge is to meet the social and nutritional needs of older adults through our congregate, home-delivered, and liquid meal supplement services. It is our sincere hope that you will join us in this most rewarding pursuit.
