Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Right TRAC program is an alternative to traditional juvenile court adjudication. It is a process that refers a juvenile offender, who might otherwise be placed under juvenile court supervision, to an alternative community-based local Youth Assistance program. Upon successful program completion, the charged offenses are dismissed. The Right TRAC program is for the low-risk offender. It is based on the belief that some youth and juvenile offenses can be more effectively dealt with via a skilled assessment process and Youth Assistance Program services participation, rather than formal prosecution.

• A short youth and caregiver assessment via the Juvenile Inventory For Functioning (JIFF) to assess the supports you and your youth need to improve and succeed without court intervention.
• A focused JIFF goal plan that identifies areas of concern in functioning that can be addressed in the community.
• An opportunity to develop & improve communication with their child though goal setting and service supports via Wayne County Youth Assistance Programs.

• Parents and Caregivers sign a consent form to the JIFF assessment and YAP services.
• The Parent/Caregiver and youth are involved in YAP services within 5 days.
• The YAP Provider assists each youth and family to participate in school and community more successfully.
• The YAP provides feedback to the Court and Prosecutor regarding successful completion.
• The youth’s juvenile case is formally dismissed without further involvement of the court.
• The youth does not have a court record for the offense.

• Address assessed reasons for the offense behavior via community service focus.
• Hold youth accountable to help learn from their mistakes.
• Repair the harm caused to families, victims & the community.
• Allow eligible offenders the opportunity to keep their record clean.
• Support youth to attend school and participate safely in the community.

1. Agree to YAP Services and sign the Consent Form with the Wayne County Prosecutor.
2. The Juvenile Assessment Center staff will take you to Room 136 of Bldg. B in the Lincoln Hall of juvenile Justice for a Juvenile Inventory For Function (JIFF) assessment and goal plan
3. The Juvenile Assessment Center will provide you with copies of the JIFF goals and plan for your child and the name and phone number of the YAP Provider assigned
4. The YAP Provider will contact you for participation within 5 days
