Due to an overwhelming response to Wayne County's Housing Rehabilitation Program for our thirty-four participating Jurisdictions, we have suspended the acceptance of new applications. Once we service the homeowners currently on the rehabilitation list, we will reopen the application in-take process for housing repairs based on Wayne County and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations

2022 CONSOLIDATED ANNUAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION REPORT (CAPER)

Notice is hereby given that the County of Wayne has completed a draft of the 2022 Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) for its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Programs. Prior to submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), a draft of the 2022 CAPER is available for public review and comment for a 15-day period from September 7, 2023, through September 21, 2023. The report can be accessed via Wayne County's website at https://www.waynecounty.com/departments/econdev/cdbg.aspx or in person at the Wayne County Community Development Program offices located at the Guardian Building, 500 Griswold St., 28th Floor, Detroit, MI 48226, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The CAPER highlights expenditures of CDBG funds for the period July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023, and provides information on activities undertaken with HOME and ESG funds for affordable housing and homeless services in Wayne County, Michigan. HUD offers these program grants to develop viable communities that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities for low-and-moderate income persons.

Wayne County will conduct one (1) public hearing to consider and afford the opportunity for input to be recorded on the 2022 CAPER. The Public Hearing will be held on September 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom. Join Wayne County's Zoom account at:

and comment at the public hearing. Any written comments should be made to the attention of Tuesday Redmond, Community Development Director, Wayne County, Guardian Building, 500 Griswold St., 28th Floor, Detroit, MI 48226.

The Wayne County Office of Community Development administers the HUD Funded Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnership Program and the Emergency Solutions Grants.

These funds are utilized in participating municipalities in the County of Wayne to carry out program and activities which benefit low and moderate income households.
