We are currently taking reservations for the 2021 picnic season, which runs now through September 30, 2021. Click HERE for a complete information package. For the first time, you are able to check availability and book picnic shelters on-line through our new registration system. Nankin Mills Interpretive Center
Due to COVID-19, the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center remains closed to visitors. There is a walk-up window for residents to register for the dog park, picnic permits or purchase a metal detector permit. The front desk will be open from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Monday through Friday afternoons.
The walk up window will be closed on Wednesday, July 21 due to an event.
Wayne County Parks Dog Park
The Wayne County Parks dog park season runs May 1, 2021-April 30, 2022. Registration for the new season takes place at the Nankin Mills Intpretive Center in Westland. Registration hours are Monday - Friday from 1:00 PM - 4:0 0 PM. Click HERE for the dog park rules and membership application form. Please note, you will need to bring copies of your city dog license and rabies/distemper vaccination records to register your dog.
Connecting the Rouge Website
Connecting the Rouge is a regional planning effort led by Wayne County Parks that will connect communities along the Rouge River with access to existing and planned trails on Hines Drive, the Lower Rouge Greenway and the Rouge River Gateway.
