Wayne County Parks has a variety of programs available for all ages!


The Wayne County Lightfest is now open from 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM Monday - Friday and from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. There is a fee of $5 cash per vehicle. The entrance for the Lightfest is located at 7651 Merriman Road in Westland, which is 2.5 miles south of I-96. Stop by the Santa Shelter at the end of the Lightfest for refreshments and photos with Santa. The Santa photos cost $8. Toy Night Tuesdays are December 4, 11 and 18. Bring a new, unwrapped toy on Toy Night Tuesdays and the admission fee is waived.

Join a Wayne County Parks naturalist for the Winter Walk and Fire Side Talk on Saturday, December 1 from 10:00 AM - Noon. The program includes hiking to look for animal signs, roasting marshmallows at a fire pit, hot chocolate and stories. Recommended ages for the program are 6 to adult.
