Criminal Court Services

The Wayne County Clerk is designated as the Clerk of the Court for the Third Judicial Circuit Court in Wayne County and assists the Court with its many functions. The Criminal Division of the Wayne County Clerk's Office handles the filing of new criminal adult felony cases and maintains all of the existing criminal case files for the Third Judicial Circuit Court.

All case related documents filed with the court as required by the court rules must be filed with the Clerk of the Court.

'Pro Se' is a Latin phrase that translates to 'for himself or herself' or 'in his or her own behalf'.

Example: Pro Se representation means that a person will handle his own or her own case in court without a lawyer.

CASE INITIATIONS / SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT

The Clerk's Office Criminal Division has the responsibility of initiating all Criminal Adult Felony cases bound over from the 24 Wayne County District Courts. The bindover information for the case is transmitted to the Clerk's Office via the Document Sharing application.

E-Filing

All subsequent filings are to be E-filed except for Applications to Set Aside.
