COVID-19 VACCINE BOOSTER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Wayne County Health Department is now administering COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to immunocompromised residents.
Boosters are available at no cost to eligible residents at all Wayne County-sponsored vaccine sites. Immunocompromised individuals seeking a booster should wait at least 28 days after receiving their second vaccine dose before obtaining a third shot.
Individuals should get a booster dose of the same vaccine as their previous vaccination.
Pfizer & Moderna
A single booster dose of the vaccine may be administered at least 6 months after completion of a primary series to individuals:
- 65 years of age and older
- 18 through 64 years of age at high risk of severe COVID-19
- 18 through 64 years of age with frequent institutional or occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2
J&J
A single booster dose of the Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) COVID-19 Vaccine may be administered at least 2 months after completion of the single-dose primary regimen to individuals 18 years of age and older.
