Commissioner Baydoun offers congratulations on special airport luncheon
On Jan. 25, members of the Muslim American community, local elected officials and Transportation Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security employees broke bread together at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. It became a festive lunch with announcement of the long-awaited reopening of the federal government.
I would like to thank all federal employees for their service during a time of financial instability and commend them for their patience. Thank you for keeping us safe!
Thanks also to Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hadidi of the Michigan Muslim Community Council (MMCC) for organizing this beautiful gathering as well as to all the sponsors who provided dinners and gas cards to impacted federal employees.
