Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Timothy Lyman, 30, , in connection with the fatal shooting of his brother, boxer Isiah Jones, 28, both of Detroit.

On September 19, 2022, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 9380 block of Stout for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located Mr. Jones unresponsive with a large gunshot wound to the right half of his face. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

It is alleged that an argument between Defendant Lyman and Mr. Jones escalated, and the defendant produced and fired a shotgun, fatally wounding the victim, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on September 21, 2022.

Timothy Lyman has been charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder, and one count of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail this morning in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for October 7, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for October 14, 2022, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Kenneth King.
