Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Michael David McCarren, 52, (DOB: 03/26/1969), of Romulus, in connection with the murder of Jennifer Leombruno, 43, also of Romulus. The defendant and the victim had formerly resided residing together and have children in common. * At the time of the incident the children were not present, and they were not living together.

On August 7, 2021, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Romulus police officers were dispatched to a hotel in the 8200 block of Merriman Road in Romulus for report of a bleeding male and possibly dead female. Upon arrival, officers located the victim inside the hotel room with multiple stab wounds to her chest and abdomen. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

It is alleged that an argument between the defendant and the victim escalated and Defendant McCarren fatally stabbed the victim multiple times.

On August 12, 2021, Michael David McCarren was been charged with one count of Second Degree Murder. * He was arraigned and remanded to jail on August 13, 2021 in 34th District Court before Judge Lisa Martin.
