Dearborn Heights Man Charged in Animal Cruelty Case
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Haseeb J. Habeeb, 54, of Dearborn Heights in connection with the death of a 45-year-old Dearborn Heights woman's 3-year-old chihuahua.
On May 24, 2025, at approximately 12:00 a.m., at a residence in the 4500 block of Fleming Street in Dearborn Heights, it is alleged that Defendant Habeeb stomped on the neck of the victim's dog, killing the animal. Investigation by the Dearborn Heights Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant later the same day.
Haseeb J. Habeeb has been charged with one count of Second-Degree Killing/Torturing of an Animal and one count of Abandoning/Cruelty to One Animal.*
He was arraigned on May 28, 2025, in 20th District Court before Judge David Turfe, and given a $300
cash bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.. Please request

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
