Det. Man Charged with Mutilation of a Dead Body in Connection with Missing Livingston County Woman
Ms. Pierce was reported missing by her mother on November 24, 2020. As a result of an investigation conducted by the Detroit Police Department assisted by the Michigan State Police, and the Livingston County Sheriff's Department on February 11,2021 at 8:00 p.m. the lifeless remains of Ms. Pierce were found in the rear of a location in Detroit. Knighton was placed under arrest at the scene. No further details will be released by this office while the police continue to investigate the death of Ms. Pierce.
Today the defendant has been charged with Mutilation of a Dead Body, Concealing the Death of an Individual, and Tampering with Evidence. He was arraigned today and received a $50,000/10% bond and has a February 25, 2021 Probable Cause Conference in 36th District Court.
