Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Alisha Renee Hollamon, 23, and Avion Traylor, 21, both of Detroit, in connection with the homicide of Defendant Hollamon's seven-year-old son.

On October 22, 2023, at approximately 12:08 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3700 block of Hurlbut Street for reports of child abuse. Upon their arrival, officers observed the victim suffering from apparent scars and abrasions across his face, back, and chest. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the child to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

It is alleged that the defendants physically abused the victim, fatally injuring him. More facts and evidence will be placed on the record at the preliminary examination.

Alisha Renee Hollamon and Avion Traylor have both been charged with Felony Murder, First-Degree Child Abuse, and Torture.*

They were arraigned and remanded to jail this morning in 36th District Court before Magistrate William Burton. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for November 8, 2023, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for November 15, 2023, before Judge Kenneth King.
