Detroit Man Charged in Assault of Ypsilanti Woman
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Leandre Devon Love, 36, of Detroit, with the assault of a 44 -year-old Ypsilanti woman.
On October 15, 2023, at approximately 7:03 p.m., Detroit police officers were informed that a person had been hit with a vehicle outside of the Detroit Police Department 9th precinct, located in the 11100 block of Gratiot Avenue. Officers entered the parking lot and observed the victim lying in the road in front of the building. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
It is alleged that after an incident occurred at a residence in the 15600 block of Edmore Drive in Detroit, Defendant Love followed the victim to the 9th precinct, before striking her with his vehicle, non-fatally injuring her. More facts and evidence will be placed on the record at the preliminary examination.
Leandre Devon Love has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder and Felonious Assault.*
He was arraigned on October 18, 2023, in 36th District Court and given a $100,000 personal bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for October 26, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for November 1, 2023, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Aliyah Sabree.
