Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Rodes Perly Francillion, 34, of Detroit, in connection with the non-fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old Detroit woman. The defendant and the victim were not acquainted.

On August 4, 2023, at approximately 8:08 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the 18300 block of Warren Avenue for a reported stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim suffering from a stab wound to her right arm. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. It is alleged that Defendant Francillion approached the victim while she was standing at a bus stop, and stabbed her with a knife, non-fatally injuring her, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant later the same day.

Rodes Perly Francillion has been charged with one count of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm and one count of Felonious Assault. *

He was arraigned on August 7, 2023, in 36th District Court late in the afternoon and given a $50,000 cash/surety bond. A bond re-determination hearing is scheduled for August 9, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., before Judge William McConico. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 15, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 22, 2023, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Ronald Giles.
