Jerome Mack Fitzpatrick, 46 (DOB: 10/9/1973), of Detroit has been charged by Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy with carjacking and a 35-year-old Detroit woman and her one-year-old infant.

On March 7, 2020 at 4:20 a.m., the woman victim was carjacked while dropping her child off at a relative's residence in the 18470 block of Sussex. It is alleged that, while she was in the driveway, the woman got out of the car, removed her child from the car seat, and the defendant got in the vehicle, put the car in reverse and drove at high rate of speed. The car struck and injured the woman and her child. It is also alleged that the defendant drove away with her personal items inside the car. Police and medics arrived at the scene and transported both victims to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Detroit Police Department Fitzpatrick was arrested on June 5, 2020. Today he was charged and arraigned on one count each of Carjacking, Unarmed Robbery, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property over $20,000 and Unlawful Driving Away an Automobile. * He received a $250,000 cash bond. His Probable Cause Conference is on June 17, 2020 and his Preliminary Examination is on June 24, 2020. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.
