Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Carlos Jeffrey Anderson, 20, (DOB: 10/16/2001), of Detroit in connection with the non-fatal shooting of 43-year-old Wallace Cranford, and the fatal shootings of 48-year-old Richard Boyd and 28-year-old Tayone Boyd, all of Detroit.
On April 5, 2021, at approximately 11:42 a.m., Detroit police were dispatched to a residence in the 5170 block of Fairview Street in Detroit for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the lifeless body of Mr. Tayone Boyd, and the two surviving victims with apparent gunshot wounds. Medics arrived on scene and transported Mr. Cranford and Mr. Richard Boyd to a local hospital for treatment. Mr. Richard Boyd succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
It is alleged that an argument escalated before the defendant fatally shot the two victims and wounded the third. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of Defendant Anderson on April 26, 2021.
Carlos Jeffrey Anderson has been charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, and four counts of Felony Firearm. * He was arraigned and remanded to jail on May 13, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Laura Echartea. The Probable Cause Conference was held on May 21, 2021. The Preliminary Examination is on July 20, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Kenyetta Stanford-Jones.
