Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Crash
On April 28, 2022, at approximately 12:22 a.m., it is alleged that the defendant was driving eastbound on West Eight Mile Road at a high rate of speed. When Detroit police officers attempted a traffic stop, it is further alleged that the defendant fled from the officers at a high rate of speed, continuing eastbound before colliding with the victim's vehicle at the intersection of West Eight Mile Road and northbound Southfield Service Drive, fatally injuring her. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced Ms. McCallum deceased. The defendant was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Jordan Trenai Strawter has been charged with one count of Reckless Driving Causing Death, one count of Driving with License Suspended/Revoked/Denied Causing Death, and one count of FirstDegree Fleeing and Eluding Causing Death. *
He was arraigned today in 36th District Court and received a 50,000 cash bond with a tether. His Probable Cause Conference is on May 9, 2022. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.
