Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Dangelo Cash Clemons, 29, (DOB: 07/12/1991), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shootings of Larry Brown, 23, and Colby Millsap, 44, also of Detroit. On July 3, 2021, the defendant was also charged in connection with the kidnapping of Mr. Millsap's five-year-old daughter.

On June 30, 2021, at approximately 10:25 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the area of Schaefer Highway and Capitol Street in Detroit for a child endangerment call. Upon arrival, officers were notified that the child was being held captive in a residence in the 12100 block of Schaefer Highway. When attempting to contact Mr. Millsap at his residence, officers discovered the victims inside and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victims deceased.

It is alleged that Defendant Clemons fatally shot the victims before abducting the child and fleeing to the residence next door.

"The charges in this case are the result of a month of coordinated, consistent work between my office and police agencies," said Prosecutor Worthy. "The allegations in this case are brutal and tragic, but the only silver lining is that the child involved here was able to signal for help and was found alive. "

Dangelo Cash Clemons has been charged with one count of Felony Murder, one count of FirstDegree Murder and two counts of Felony Firearm. * He was arraigned today in 36th District Court.

The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 20, 2021 and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 27, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Roberta Archer. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
