Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Jermayne Dale Fields, 47, of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Anthony Tyner, 65, also of Detroit.

On January 10, 2023, at approximately 3:27 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Florence Street and Forrer Street for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim lying face down on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

It is alleged that a verbal altercation between the defendant and the victim escalated, and Defendant Field produced and fired a handgun multiple times, fatally wounding Mr. Tyner.

Jermayne Dale Fields has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and two count of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail this morning in 36^th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for January 27, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for February 3, 2023, at 1:45 p.m., before Judge Kenneth King.
