Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Bruce Reuben Jenkins, 58, (DOB:02/24/1964), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal stabbing of his brother, Imari Jenkins, 52, also of Detroit.

On April 25, 2022, at approximately 4:53 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 13570 block of Mansfield Street in Detroit for a reported shooting/cutting. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim lying in the entrance of the home suffering from multiple stab wounds. Medics arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

It is alleged that an argument between the defendant and the victim escalated, and Defendant Jenkins fatally stabbed the victim multiple times, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant later the same day.

Bruce Reuben Jenkins has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder. *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail this afternoon in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for May 11, 2022, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for May 18, 2022, before Judge Kenneth King. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
