Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Father
On March 19, 2022, at approximately 6:39 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 6340 block of Curtis Street in Detroit for an unknown problem. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim inside the home, unresponsive with multiple stab wounds to his head and torso. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
It is alleged that Defendant Muhammad stabbed his father multiple times before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on March 20, 2022.
Shahriss Amir Muhammad has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder. *
He was arraigned and remanded to jail today in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 7, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 14, 2022, at 1:45 p.m., before Judge Kenneth King.
