Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Cameron Dejuane Leflore, 21, (DOB 05/24/2000), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal stabbing of Gage Wann, 23, who was reported to be homeless.

On May 25, 2021 at 5:26 a.m., Leflore and a male co-worker got off work and were on foot at the intersection of Plymouth and Middlebelt Roads in Livonia when they encountered Gage Wann. It is alleged that Mr. Wann said some racial epithets directed at the defendant and the other man, who are both Black. The victim continued to engage in a verbal altercation with Defendant Leflore when it is alleged that he pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. The defendant fled from the scene after the stabbing. Investigation by the Livonia Police Department led to the arrest of Defendant Leflore on June 7, 2021.

He has been charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder. * He was arraigned today in 16th District Court. His Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 17, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. and his Preliminary Examination is scheduled for June 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Livonia Police Department.
