Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Jamal Tavon Irvin, 24, (DOB: 05/26/1997), of Detroit, in connection with the robbery of a 37-year-old man, also of Detroit.

On June 8, 2021 at approximately 1:00 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a gas station in the 4040 block of West Warren Avenue in Detroit for a reported robbery. The defendant approached the victim as he unsuccessfully attempted to run back to into the gas station. It is alleged that Defendant Irvin assaulted and robbed the victim of a necklace and a bracelet before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on June 14, 2021.

Jamal Tavon Irvin has been charged with one count of Unarmed Robbery. * He was arraigned today in 36th District Court before Judge Malaika Ramsey-Heath. He was given a $250,000 bond and was ordered to have no contact with the complaining witness. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 25, 2021 at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for July 2, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in 36th District Court before Judge Roberta Archer.
