Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Timothy Charles McGhee Jr., 22, (DOB:01/17/1999), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Morgan Dawkins, 19, and the non-fatal shootings of Angel Davis, 19, and Tyree Harris, 28, also of Detroit.

On May 19, 2021, at approximately 12:45 p.m. Detroit police officers were dispatched to a gas station at the intersection of Conant Street and East Outer Drive in Detroit for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Ms. Dawkins lying face down and unresponsive and the two surviving victims with apparent gunshot wounds. All three victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Ms. Dawkins succumbed to her wounds and was pronounced deceased. It is alleged that a verbal altercation between the defendant and Mr. Harris escalated and Defendant McGhee fired a handgun, fatally shooting Ms. Dawkins and injuring Ms. Davis and Mr. Harris. Ms. Dawkins was not involved with the defendant or the other men, she was an innocent bystander.

Timothy Charles McGhee Jr. has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, six counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, and seven counts of Felony Firearm. * He was arraigned today in 34th District Court in Romulus. Defendant McGhee, Jr. was arraigned and remanded to jail today by Judge Dawn White, His case was assigned to Judge Kenneth King, and that the Probable Cause Conference is scheduled on June 3, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. and that the preliminary examination is currently scheduled for June 10, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.
