Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Anthony Fields, 34, (DOB: 10/02/1987), of Detroit, in connection with an arson of a Detroit Land Bank home that injured multiple members of the Detroit Fire Department.

On July 28, 2022, at approximately 12:40 p.m., members of the Detroit Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at a residence in the 80 block of West Hollywood Avenue in Detroit. While fighting the fire, the residence collapsed in on itself, trapping and injuring multiple firefighters.

It is alleged that Defendant Fields set the home on fire before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant later the same day.

Anthony Fields has been charged with eight counts of First-Degree Arson, one count of Felon in Possession, and one count of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned this afternoon in 36th District Court and given a $500,000 cash/surety bond with a GPS tether. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 10, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 17, 2022, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Kenyetta Stanford Jones.
