Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Dandre Rashad Mitchell, 36, (DOB: 01/27/1985), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Deante Snow, 28, and the non-fatal shooting of a 19-yearold man and a 26-year-old man, all of Detroit.

On January 22, 2022, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a hair salon in the 18940 block of Livernois Avenue in Detroit for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located Mr. Snow lying face up with heavy bleeding near his torso. Medics arrived on scene and transported Mr. Snow to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

It is alleged that a verbal altercation between Defendant Mitchell and the victims escalated, and the defendant fired a handgun, fatally wounding Mr. Snow. Defendant Mitchell turned himself in to authorities on January 24, 2022.

Dandre Mitchell has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder (Deante Snow), two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder (19-year-old man, and 26-year-old man), and three counts of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned on January 27, 2022 in 36th District Court. The bond given by Magistrate Joseph Boyer was $100,000 cash. As a result, WCPO has filed an Emergency Bond Motion that will be argued before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court on January 31, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for February 10, 2022 and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for February 17, 2022 in 36th District Court before Judge Kenneth King.
