Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Deon Ray Thomas, 32, of Detroit, in connection with non-fatal shootings of a 31-year-old Dearborn Heights man, and a 36-year-old woman and two 14-year-old boys, all of Detroit.

On April 13, 2023, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 13570 block of Penrod Street. Upon their arrival, officers observed several people that were injured. Medics arrived on scene and transported the 31-year-old victim, the two 14-year-old victims, and Defendant Thomas to a local hospital for treatment. The 36-year-old victim was not injured in the shooting.

It is alleged that a food order was wrongfully delivered to the 36-year-old victim's home. When Defendant Thomas confronted the victims, it is alleged that the verbal altercation escalated, and Defendant Thomas produced and fired a handgun multiple times, non-fatally injuring the victims.

Deon Ray Thomas has been charged with four counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, four counts of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, four counts of Felonious Assault, and 12 counts of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned this morning in 36th District Court and given a $500,000 cash/surety bond. A bond redetermination hearing is scheduled for April 19, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., before Judge William McConico.
