Detroit Man Charged in Theft of French Bulldog
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Demario Lipsey, 30, of Detroit, in connection with the armed robbery of a 27-year-old Detroit man.
On July 29, 2023, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the victim was walking his dog around Greenfield Road and Pilgrim Street in Detroit. It is alleged that Defendant Lipsey approached the victim with a handgun and robbed the victim of money and his French bulldog before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on July 31, 2023. The victim in the case has confirmed that his dog has not been returned.
Demario Lipsey has been charged with one count of Armed Robbery. * He was arraigned yesterday afternoon in 36th District Court and given a $250,000 cash bond. A bond re-determination hearing is scheduled for August 7, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., before Judge William McConico. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 11, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 18, 2023, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Ronald Giles.
