On April 11, 2022, at approximately 8:41 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a fire station in the 6320 block of West Chicago Street in Detroit for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers observed medics on scene giving medical attention to Mr. Cowins. James Andrew Brown has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Felon in Possession, and three counts of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail today in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 21, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., before Judge Kenneth King. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.
