Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Theary Moore Robinson, 32, (DOB: 09/23/1989), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Byron Brown, 48, also of Detroit.

On January 22, 2022, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a social club in the 15790 block of Wyoming Avenue in Detroit for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim inside the building with gunshot wounds to the neck and back. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

It is alleged that a physical altercation between the defendant and the victim escalated. It is also alleged that Defendant Robinson produced and fired a handgun, fatally wounding the victim, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on May 11, 2022.

Theary Moore Robinson has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, one count of Felon in Possession and two counts of Felony Firearm *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail this afternoon in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for May 27, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for June 3, 2022, at 1:45 p.m., before Judge Kenneth King.
