Prosecutor Worthy has charged Robert Lee Bailey Jr., (DOB: 05/03/1971) of Detroit, in connection with the September 22, 2020 homicide of a 49-year-old Farmington Hills man. On September 23, 2020 at 5:25 p.m. Dearborn police officers were dispatched to an alley on Schlaff near Robertson and Barclay in the City of Dearborn. While there the officers observed the lifeless body of the 49-year-old victim inside his car. He was transported to the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office where it was determined that he dies of multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigsation by the Dearborn Police Department determined that the victim had been shot in the early morning hours of September 22, 2020 at a location near Roemer and Lithgow in Dearborn. It was alleged that Robert Lee Bailey, was armed with a handgun when he robbed the victim, shot him, and fled from the scene. On December 18, 2020, the warrent request in the case was presented to WCPO. More complete facts and evidence in the case will be presented in court at the Preliminary Examination.

On February 2, 2021 Bailey was charged with First Degree Murder, Felony Murder, Armed Robbery, Felon in Posession of a Firearm, and four counts of Felony Firearm Second Degree. * He was arraigned and remanded to jail on the same day in 19th District Court in Dearborn. His Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for February 12, 2021. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Dearborn Police Department.
