Today Quintin Brian Dorrough aka Quinton Brian Dorrough, 32, of Detroit was charged by Prosecutor Kym Worthy with Unlawful Imprisonment and Domestic Violence in connection with an incident with his former girlfriend, age 39, of Detroit.

On December 25, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., it is alleged that the defendant was driving the victim to her friend's house in a van, and they were arguing about their recent breakup. When the victim tried to exit the van, the defendant forced her back in and threatened to harm her. She escaped again in the 13620 block of East 8 Mile Road and ran, but the defendant forced her back into the van and assaulted her. He eventually dropped her off at her friend's house where she called family for help. Investigation by Detroit police officers led to the identification and arrest of the defendant on December 27, 2022.

Quintin Brian Dorrough has been charged with Unlawful Imprisonment, a felony, and misdemeanor Domestic Violence. *

"The charges in this case are amply supported by evidence of the allegations. As I have said countless times, domestic violence is rampant and terrifying. It is sad that a case like this must surface for the reality of domestic violence to set in," said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

The magistrate ordered bond in the amount of $150,000 cash, with a house arrest GPS tether. He is to have no contact with the victim, and not possess any weapons. The Probable Cause Conference is on January 6, 2023, and the Preliminary Examination is on January 13, 2023.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
