Detroit Men Charged in Rosemont Ave. Murder for Hire
On July 5, 2022, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 8830 block of Rosemont Avenue in Detroit for a reported dead person observed. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim inside the home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced Ms. Joseph deceased. It is alleged that on July 4, 2022, Billy Cromer solicited Spencer Cromer to kill the victim. Further facts and evidence will be presented at the preliminary examination.
Billy Ray Cromer has been charged with one count of Premeditated First-Degree Murder. * Spencer Louis Cromer has been charged with one count of Premeditated First-Degree Murder and one count of Felony Firearm. *
They were arraigned and remanded to jail this morning in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 5, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. Billy Cromer's Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 12, 2022 at 8:45 a.m., and Spencer Cromer's Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 12, 2022 at 1:45 p.m., both before Judge Kenneth King.
