Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Dwayne Noah Alexander-Perdue, 17, of Detroit, in connection with the carjacking of a 47-year-old woman of Warren. Defendant Alexander-Perdue is being charged as an adult defendant.

On May 7, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the victim was in the backyard of a residence in the 17400 block of Charest in Detroit providing food to dogs when it is alleged that the defendant approached the victim and produced a handgun, before robbing the victim of her car keys. It is further alleged that the defendant fled from the scene in the victim's vehicle. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant later the same day.

Dwayne Noah Alexander-Perdue has been charged with Armed Robbery, Carjacking, Unlawfully Driving Away an Automobile, Receiving and Concealing a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and 3 counts of Felony Firearm.*

"The victim in this case was providing an all too necessary service that is sorely needed in the City of Detroit. The defendant's alleged actions in this case were the opposite of altruistic- they were predatory, violent, unacceptable, and criminal," said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

He was arraigned and remanded to jail this afternoon in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for May 27, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for June 2, 2025, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Marlena Taylor.
