Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Bridgett Hubbard, 26 (DOB: 11/15/1993), of Detroit in connection with an attempted stabbing of a 37-year-old man with whom she was acquainted and the non-fatal stabbing of his dog.

On February 2, 2020 at approximately 1:19 a.m., Detroit Police officers escorted Hubbard to a residence in the 16840 block of Winthrop in Detroit to retrieve her belongings from the location. It is alleged that after a verbal altercation, Hubbard produced a knife an attempted to stab the victim. It is further alleged that Hubbard went outside and stabbed the dog. The dog survived and is being treated by the Michigan Humane Society.

Hubbard has been charged with Killing/Torturing an Animal - Second Degree, Felonious Assault, Domestic Violence and Malicious Destruction of a Building.* She was arraigned on February 3, 2020 before 36th District Court Magistrate Laura Echartea. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for February 11, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for February 18, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Lynise Bryant in 36th District Court.
