Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Brandon Xavier White-Ratliff, 26, (DOB: 02/14/1996), of Eastpointe, in connection with the fatal shooting of Lamar Addison, 30, of Detroit. The two men were acquainted.

On March 30, 2022, at approximately 1:34 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the area of Anglin Street and Winchester Street for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers were advised that the victim was inside of a residence in the 20250 block of Anglin Street. Officers located the victim in the living room of the home, unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the right arm. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

It is alleged that a verbal argument between the defendant and the victim escalated to a physical altercation. It is further alleged that Defendant White-Ratliff fired a handgun, fatally wounding the victim, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant later the same day.

Brandon Xavier White-Ratliff has been charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder, and one count of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail on April 2, 2022, in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 11, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 18, 2022, at 1:35 p.m., before Judge Kenneth King.
