On March 25, 2022, Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Jordan Dow, 19, (DOB: 10/15/2002), of Ecorse, in connection with the fatal shooting of his grandmother, Lela Dow, 61, of River Rouge.

On March 21, 2022, at approximately 5:30 p.m., River Rouge police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 10 block of Forest Street in River Rouge for a well-being check. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim inside of the home, deceased, with multiple apparent gunshot wounds.

It is alleged that several weeks ago, the defendant had been living with his grandmother and was asked to leave the home. It is further alleged that on March 20, 2022, Defendant Dow returned to the residence and fatally wounded the victim with a handgun.

Jordan Dow has been charged with one count of Felony Murder, one count of Second-Degree Murder, and two counts of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail on March 30, 2022, in 25th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 12, 2022, before Judge David Zelenak. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the River Rouge Police Department after the arraignment.
