Fordson High School Student Charged in School Threat Case
A 15-year-old juvenile male, attending Fordson High School located in the 13800 block of Ford Road, in Dearborn has been charged with Intentional Threat to Commit an Act of Violence Against a School, School Employees, or Students. *
On May 6, 2023, it is alleged that the juvenile made a shooting threat against Fordson High School. Investigation by the Dearborn Police Department led to the arrest of the juvenile on May 8, 2023.
His Preliminary Hearing was held on May 9, 2023, and the juvenile respondent was given a $4,000/10% bond. His next court date is scheduled for May 31, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at the Lincoln Hall of Justice before Referee Tracey Martin.
"Parents talk to your children, make sure they understand that if they commit an offense like this and they are charged, there can be lifelong consequences," Prosecutor Kym Worthy said. "Let them know this is serious. Let them know even if they intend it to be a prank, it isn't a joke."
*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
