Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Thomas Russell Troost, 28, (DOB: 07/27/1991), of Garden City, Michigan in connection with a carjacking of a Dearborn Heights Police Department scout car.

On January 14, 2020 at approximately 5:30 a.m., Dearborn Heights Police were dispatched to a gas station in the area of West Warren Avenue and Telegraph Road in response to a call for an attempted carjacking. Several Dearborn Heights Police officers arrived and arrested the defendant at the scene.
