Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Quinn Keith Smith, 43, (DOB: 04/16/1977), of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, in connection with the embezzlement of funds from Grosse Pointe Public School System (GPPSS) Millage Committee for Renewal.

Defendant Smith was the treasurer of the GPPSS Millage Committee for Renewal between October 2019 and January 2020. An audit of the organization's finances revealed the occurrence of unauthorized activity on the account. On February 27, 2020, a report was filed with Grosse Pointe Woods police. It is alleged that the defendant accessed the Renew GPPSS account without authorization and embezzled over $1,000.00 in funds over three months.

Smith has been charged with Embezzlement of $1,000 and less than $20,000.* He was arraigned this morning before Judge Theodore A. Metry in Grosse Pointe Woods Municipal Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 24, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for July 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Grosse Pointe Woods Municipal Court. The defendant received a $5,000/10% bond.
