Harper Woods Man Charged in Fatal Shooting of Detroit Man
On March 31, 2025, Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged William Daniel Moore, 41, of Harper Woods, in connection with the fatal shooting of Emmanuel Draughan, 21, of Detroit.
On March 12, 2025, at approximately 5:22 p.m., at a residence in the 14700 block of Tacoma Street in Detroit, it is alleged that Defendant Moore produced and fired a handgun multiple times, striking the victim in the chest. Mr. Draughan was privately transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on March 17, 2025.
William Daniel Moore was charged with First-Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, and two counts of Felony Firearm.*
He was arraigned and remanded to jail on March 31, 2025, in 36 District Court. On May 29, 2025, at the
preliminary examination before Judge Shawn Jacque, Defendant Moore was bound over as charged.
The arraignment on the information is scheduled for June 12, 2025, at 9:35 a.m., before Judge Tracy
Green in the Wayne County Criminal Justice Center.
